Fancy a Glass? Albany Creek Dog’s Interesting Vet Visit

Harry Albany Creek dogHarry did! In fact he fancied it so much that he ate the whole thing! Harry is a head strong one year old Bernese Mountain Dog from Albany Creek  who has been keeping his owners on their toes recently. He is one of our Puppy School graduates, so we know and love him well. He has a fascination with cups and glasses and will go out of his way to find any and help with the tidying up!
After realising what happened, his alert owners quickly fed him a large starch meal which encapsulated the glass. This allowed all of the glass fragments to pass through his system without causing any long term damage. We monitored Harry closely and performed several X rays to follow the progress of the fragments. There were a few large pieces, but fortunately he avoided needing surgery to remove them! He is such a cute, friendly boy, that he is very easy to forgive.
