At McDowall Veterinary Practice we have all the facilities you would expect in a modern hospital:

  • Heated, purpose-built separate cat and dog hospital wards that are spotlessly clean and have calming pheromone vapourisers.
  • Soft, thick, absorbent bedding designed to keep your pet dry at all times;
  • Intravenous fluid pumps;
  • Critical-care patient monitoring devices including an ECG, pulse oximetry and respiratory apalerts.
  • Skilled, dedicated nurses who are assigned to each patient to give them continual monitoring and care, ensuring that their medication, feeding plan and recovery plans are charted and adhered to. We find that the close attention to detail as well as frequent hugs, kisses and pats give us the best possible outcomes for our patients.

We are able to cater for all of your pet’s hospitalisation and critical care needs. We also cooperate closely with the nearby specialist centres and after hours emergency practices to ensure that your pet will always receive the optimal level of care it deserves.

Our hospitalisation facilities are state of the art, with our new hospital being built in 2012 to the highest possible standards. We like to think it is one of the better facilities in Brisbane and would be only too pleased to give you a guided tour at your next visit.
